PitchFriendly uses Gravatar (Globally Recognized Avatar) to display profile pictures throughout the system. This means your profile picture is tied to your email address and can be used across multiple websites and services.
What is Gravatar?
Gravatar is a free service that allows you to upload a profile picture once and have it appear automatically on any website that supports it. Your profile picture is linked to your email address, so whenever you use that email address on a Gravatar-enabled site like PitchFriendly, your picture will appear.
How to Change Your Profile Picture
To change your profile picture in PitchFriendly, follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit Gravatar.com
Go to Gravatar.com and create a free account if you don't have one already.
Step 2: Sign Up or Log In
- If you're new to Gravatar, click Sign Up and create an account using the same email address you use for PitchFriendly
- If you already have a Gravatar account, simply log in
Step 3: Upload Your Profile Picture

- Choose an image from your computer (recommended: square images work best, at least 200x200 pixels)
- Crop your image if needed
- Rate your image (select G for general audiences in most cases)
Step 4: Associate Your Picture with Your Email
Make sure the image you uploaded is associated with the email address you use for PitchFriendly. You can manage multiple email addresses in your Gravatar account if needed.
Step 5: Wait for Changes to Appear
After uploading your new picture to Gravatar, it may take a few minutes to an hour for the change to appear in PitchFriendly. If you don't see the change immediately, try:
- Refreshing your browser (Cmd+R on Mac, Ctrl+R on Windows)
- Clearing your browser cache
- Logging out and back into PitchFriendly
Important Notes
- Your Gravatar picture is public and can be seen by anyone on Gravatar-enabled websites
- Make sure to use the same email address in Gravatar that you use for your PitchFriendly account
- If you change your PitchFriendly email address, you'll need to make sure your new email is also associated with your Gravatar picture
- The default profile pictures (robot avatars) are automatically generated if no Gravatar is found for your email address
